Growth

Let the new site become part of the future

Some companies need just that little bit extra to break through: the equity to finance that decisive step towards growth, and an investor who sees the same potential as you do.

Grow with a financially sound partner

capiton is an investor that understands, supports and enables growth financing. This may be through investment to acquire new machines and expand production. It may be through the acquisition of a competitor which expands the product portfolio or enhances added value, or it may be through an expansion in sales activities internationally.

Our investment in your company helps you on many levels:

  • It gives you the capital you need for growth in the form of equity. You improve your bank rating or your creditworthiness. This happens not only because of the additional equity but because of the capiton investment itself (especially with regard to suppliers, customers and banks). In many cases, our involvement can also help entrepreneurs to redeem personal guarantees and liabilities.
  • It enables you to make decisive investments and stimulate growth in your company.
  • You also benefit from the strategic expertise which we provide through an Advisory Board. This will allow you to access vital knowledge and experience which can create additional opportunities for you, without the need for us to get involved in your company’s everyday operations.
  • You diversify risk, making your company more stable.

If the planned growth is realised at the end of the investment phase, both parties will look for a partner to support your company through the next phase. In some cases we have also sold our interest back to the entrepreneur, who then becomes the sole proprietor once more. Our interests in fruitwork, Trenkwalder and Hettich provide examples of such a process.

Our portfolio company KD Pharma illustrates the process of growth financing with capiton. Another example is our previous svt investment.

Alignment of interests

Basic principles

One of the key capiton basic principles is for us to pursue the same goal as our portfolio companies and their management. It’s not about quick profits at any price, but about the long-term health and value-appreciation prospects of your company.

Growth

At capiton we aim for solid growth, fully utilising the company’s potential. This means that we generally reserve additional capital for our portfolio companies to enable further growth. We do not charge our portoflio companies any monitoring fees. Excessive levels of debt are also not part of our philosophy.

Support

capiton actively provides advice and expertise in the dynamic value-appreciation phase, without getting involved in the operational side of your business. You will benefit from our substantial experience of similar cases.

Prospects

In the end your company will be stronger than before – greater in every respect, perfectly equipped for the future, providing secure employment and more valuable than ever: a company which you, your employees, and indeed we, can be proud of.
