nora systems GmbH
nora systems GmbH, previously Freudenberg Bausysteme, is the world’s leading supplier of high-quality flexible rubber floor coverings, used mainly in the health, education and transport sectors and in public buildings. capiton acquired the company from Freudenberg Group in 2007 in the course of a carve-out. During the process, capiton set great store upon constructive collaboration with the works council: the intention was to ensure a smooth transition from group affiliation to independence for all involved, and so management became co-owners of the company through an MBO. With support from capiton, management continued to develop nora systems, and was able to increase turnover as well as profitability – the US business in particular was significantly expanded. In 2013 the company was successfully recapitalised together with ICG, which led to attractive returns for our investors. capiton remained the majority shareholder. In 2016, capiton sold its remaining share in the company to the then co-investor, ICG. The current management remains on board and is leading the company to the next development phase.
